Three Months & A Dress :)

Yesterday was the 3 month mark till Matt and I get married in the temple :)  So, I haven't written for a while and I have had good reason, I swear! It was finals week and then spring break and not a whole lot got done until today. My mom, my best friend, and I went dress shopping AND I have found my dress that I will be wearing on my wedding day :) It is an ivory, tea length gown. I obviously cannot wear it during the temple ceremony but will after for pictures and then at the reception in Moses Lake. Speaking of the reception in Moses Lake, my wonderful fiance and I went to the Rose St. Chapel to look around and take measurements. Before we left, we took a moment to share the excitement that would be occurring in the very spot we were standing. When I bought my dress today it was a huge sigh of relief because I was quite worried that I wouldn't find the dress that was meant for me but when I saw the dress I grinned ear from ear and had to have it. I mentioned to my mom and Amanda (my bestie who went) that if I didn't get the gown I would regret it. I didn't cry like most people do when they get their wedding dress but I'm not like most people. I knew it was the dress for me because after I saw it, I had no desire to look for anymore dresses. It was a dress I didn't expect to get because it was a tea length and ivory color but I put it on and felt great. It fits with the vintage feel of the wedding and I couldn't be happier about it. The dress with be back in the shop in a month and I'll have alterations to make sure it fits properly. It's crazy how fast time flies by. Before we all know it, June 29th will be among us.

Only 90 more days :)

Changes. Just A Way Of Life.

Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches when things happen. I've decided over careful consideration and prayer to change the date of my reception to the 12th of July instead the 13th of July. It's only one day sooner but I wasn't sure if I should do it or not. The main reason why I changed the day was so it people that I care deeply about could attend. There would have been a few different things that conflicted with having the reception on the 13th and now it's all good, no problems :) After all, it's just one day.

Not much of an update since the last time I posted something. I did start a facebook event to get everyone's address. So! If you are reading this that is a friend of mine on facebook and you have added your address yet then do it! Either add it to the event's page or message it to me.

It's super late and I just got home from the gym so I'm going to make this super short :) Have a great day!

Details Details Details :)

This last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of decision making. Even before the engagement, Matt and I had been making decisions about the wedding. I think we've known for awhile that we wanted to get married so making serious decisions was not a big deal. So! Here is a list of things we have and haven't figured out.

Have:
  • Booked the St. George Temple for June 29th at 8:40 a.m.
  • Booked the Rose St. Chapel for July 13th (6pm to 8pm)
  • Picked Out Color Scheme: Vintage/Sunflower (Yellow, Ivory, Hint of Brown)
Have Not:
  •  Everything Else.
We have a lot to do and not a whole lot of time to do it (110 DAYS!!!) Matt and I are blessed with amazing families and friends that are willing to help us which makes things a little less stressful. When Matt and I get married in the St. George Temple we will be having an Open House in Cedar City and then two weeks later in Moses Lake (July 13th) we will have a reception. His Grandma is throwing us the Open House which I couldn't be more excited for because she is taking care of all the details! The thing I need to focus on for the next couple of weeks is to start collecting stuff for decorations and then also getting a DRESS! Goodness gracious, I don't need only one dress but two. Not only do I want a wedding dress but I want to get a yellow sundress and cardigan to wear inside the temple but also at the Open House. Hopefully during spring break which is in two weeks I am able to find both dresses, at least one of them I hope :)

Matt and I booked the temple two weeks in advanced of getting engaged because we were told it would be a good idea to book the temple early since it quite a popular one to get married in. I wanted to let everyone know why in particular that temple was the one that I chose to be married in for time and all eternity.
Many years ago I remember looking online at all the temples in the world and came across the St. George Temple picture and was just rendered speechless. I had seen quite a few temples before finally getting to the picture and I don't know what it was but an immediate connection was made. It would be a couple years later that I would finally see it in person. During a two week road trip for my 21st birthday, we made a stop at the St. George Temple :) I remember pulling up to the temple grounds and that ability to speak was lost all over again. I walked around the grounds and the visitor center being in awe of the beauty that was before me. It wasn't until we were in the car and pulling away that I started to get extremely emotional. It wasn't sad tears either. I knew at that moment it would be the temple I would be married in.

There is a lot to be done like I said but I know it will be done because I have so many people helping out. I am so grateful for all of those people in my life that make it so much it better, you all are great blessings. I love you :)

The Proposal Story

Approximately Forty Minutes After This Photo Was Taken I Got Engaged! Crazy!

I've decided to start this blog to let all of our family and friends in on the adventure Matt and I are embarking on. It is all quite exciting and I am hoping that this will become a place where we can simply update everyone on the wedding. It will be slightly easier then telling everyone individually ;) So, lets begin . ..

Matt and I have been together for a little over three months. Two weeks ago, Matt got down on one knee and proposed to me. I'm ENGAGED! It is still pretty surreal for me to say that. Getting married in the temple has been something that I have always wanted and knowing it will be happening with the most amazing man, I am so lucky and blessed.

For those of you who don't know the proposal story, I thought I would share that with you :) On the 22nd of February, Matt and I went home so I could help my dear friend with the music for her reception that was the next day. We got to Moses Lake and Matt kindly dropped me off at home so I could get settled in. A little bit later I drove out to his house to hang out and mingle with his parents :) I'm not quite sure how long I stayed but I had to be going because I was to wake early in the morning so I could figure out the music. After the music was done the next day, I headed to Matt's house again and was there for a little bit chatting it up with his Mom and Dad. I wasn't there for too long when we decided to go on our walk. I had been wanting to go on a walk for quite some time but was always unable to because mother nature here in Cheney can be slightly bi-polar. Anyways, it was a beautiful day for a walk in Moses Lake so we decided to do that. By this point I knew something was up because Matt was acting a little weird, I just brushed it off though. Matt took me out to Crab Creek a place near where he lives, he goes out there to think and fish. When we got there we just started walking. I really knew something was up because he kept messing around in his right jacket pocket. I had a feeling of what was coming ;) We walked along the edge of the water and then came to a point where we could walk no more because the brush was too high. We were looking at each other and telling one another how we will love each other forever and ever ;) I hugged him extra tight and when the embrace was over he knelt down and started saying my full name and pulled out the ring box and asked, "Will You Marry Me?"

It was the greatest moment in my life, I could but couldn't believe what was happening. Of course I said yes :) Ever since then it has been a whirlwind of making decisions and enjoying the moment. I am so incredibly lucky to have found someone who I can call my best friend and will one day be sealed to For Time and All Eternity.

That is it for now but I will write again soon including all the details that have developed.

111 Days To Go :)

Love,
